Thursday, May 9, 2024 at 7:00PM

Moose Jaw Public Library Theatre

Journey to Hope Moose Jaw invites you to an evening with author and activist, Ruby Swanson.

Author, Ruby Swanson will share from her Book, "A Family Outing", followed by an interview by Megan Nash and audience Q & A Session.

Ruby Remenda Swanson grew up in a deeply homophobic time, witnessed the emergence of the gay rights movement, and saw the way the AIDS crisis had transformed the LGBT community. Despite seeing herself as progressive, she was unprepared when her sixteen-year-old son told her, ā€œIā€™m gay.ā€ A Family Outing is the story of how Ruby moved past her initial shock, fear, and denial to become a public advocate for equality and the acceptance of the LGBT community.
A Family Outing, published by Cormorant Books Inc., was released in November 2016.

Ruby will have copies of her book, "A Family Outing" for sale at the event.

This event is free.
