Formed in 2021, the Nightingales Quartet features Regina musicians Dianne Burrows, Marlene Hinz, Carolyn Speirs and Suzanne Williams. The group has performed their popular musical reviews for sold-out audiences, singing the beautiful songs of the First and Second World War eras in tribute to the men and women who served and sacrificed for our nation. From Vera Lynn tunes like The White Cliffs of Dover and We’ll Meet Again, to jazz standards like Blue Skies and Tuxedo Junction, shows also include a good helping of Andrews Sisters songs like The Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy and Don’t Sit Under the Apple Tree. The quartet is joined by pianist Barbara Flaten-Orr, bass player Quinn Bell and Terry Schiissler on percussion.
Two concerts will be held at the Mae Wilson Theatre on Tuesday, May 14 at 6:30 and 8:00.
Tickets are $20 and are available at the Cultural Centre box office or on their website.
